Car Hits Father, Babies In Stroller; One Infant Dies

Associated Press

A hit-and-run driver crashed into a father pushing 4-month-old twin boys in a stroller Monday night south of here, fatally injuring one of the infants, authorities said.

The man and the other baby were hospitalized with serious injuries.

The accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on a residential street in the South Park area, King County police spokeswoman Joanne Elledge said.

A mother and father were pushing the twins in a stroller along a street when a car hit the man and the stroller, then left the scene, Elledge said.

One baby died a short time later at Harborview Medical Center. The other was in serious condition. The father was in satisfactory condition. The mother reportedly was uninjured.

Police were looking for a light-colored, late-model sedan.
