Dollar Up Against Yen

The dollar rose slightly against the yen Monday as a smaller-than-expected rise in Japan’s trade surplus helped allay fears of renewed trade tensions between Japan and the United States.

But traders watched their moves ahead of Japan’s unveiling of its much-awaited economic stimulus package, due out Tuesday, which could play a key role in turning around Japan’s troubled economy.
