If you would like to write a letter to the editor concerning items on the Nov. 4 election ballot, please do so soon.

Election letters must be in our hands before noon on Thursday, Oct. 30.

However, as the election nears, the volume of letters we receive increases. We strive to publish at least a representative sampling of all the letters we receive, but the competition becomes more intense close to Election Day.

To increase the odds your letter will be chosen, say something original, keep your letter below 250 words and include a daytime phone number, for verification.
