Fire At School Site Regarded As Arson

A small fire in the gymnasium of a middle school under construction appears to have been intentionally set, according to a police report.

A construction worker discovered the remains of the fire Monday afternoon in the Coeur d’Alene middle school being built off Kathleen Avenue.

The fire apparently had been set over the weekend in a wooden crate. The crate and more than a dozen pipes and sprinkler heads inside were destroyed.
