Stolen Money Found In Woods

More than $1,500 dropped last month by burglars who fled police after a break-in at a construction business was recovered Tuesday from a wooded area near the store.

Police found the money, described as “more than $1,500 but less than $2,000,” and other evidence while following the path they believed the burglars used to run from officers on Sept. 24, said Lt. Don Jiran.

The money was part of $5,000 stolen from Andy’s Heating and Cooling, one of six businesses hit that morning.

Five people have been charged with those burglaries.
