Leaf Fest Saturday

The fifth annual Fall Leaf Festival will take place at the John A. Finch Arboretum on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the event.

The festival includes favorites like the huge leaf pile, demonstrations on outdoor cooking, a live compost demonstration and a visit from exotic felines from Cat Tales.

Urban foresters will be available to answer questions on the proposed new street ordinance that has strict new guidelines for trees. A fall color tour of the Arboretum is scheduled at 12:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, and will take place regardless of the weather. Finch Arboretum is located in West Spokane on Sunset Highway at F Street. For more information call 625-6664.
