Rodman Might Retire

Compiled From Wire Services

Dennis Rodman might retire rather than sign a contract the Chicago Bulls re-worked to his satisfaction, his agent said.

Rodman, 36, was displeased with certain incentive clauses in the one-year contract he agreed to two weeks ago but didn’t sign because he was suffering from the flu and couldn’t take his physical.

The New York Knicks made another move to try to get better rather than younger, trading four players to the Boston Celtics for Chris Mills.

New York dealt second-year forwards Walter McCarty and Dontae’ Jones, rookie John Thomas and veteran Scott Brooks to the Celtics. The Knicks also received two second-round draft picks.

Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O’Neal, injured in Tuesday night’s exhibition game at Denver, was diagnosed with an abdominal strain and may be out until Monday.
