Man Arrested In Hit-Run That Killed 4-Month-Old

Associated Press

A Tukwila man was arrested Friday night in the hit-and-run crash that killed a 4-month-old baby earlier this week.

The 41-year-old man, whose name was not released, was booked into the Regional Justice Center in Kent for investigation of felony hit-run and vehicular homicide, King County Police Officer David Robinson said.

Devon Decker was killed Monday night when a car ran into him as his parents, Joe Decker and Francis Hinojosa, were wheeling him and his twin brother, Darius, in a stroller. Darius and Joe Decker survived the crash and were released from Harborview Medical Center on Wednesday. Hinojosa was not hurt.

Police said after the accident that they were seeking a light-colored, late-1980s sedan and appealed to the public for information to identify the driver.

The car believed to be the one involved in the crash was found at a home in south King County on Thursday evening. Robinson said the man arrested Friday lived or stayed at the house, but had not been there for several days.

Devon was buried Friday at Riverton Crest Cemetery in Tukwila. About 100 people attended the service.
