New Design For Seahawks’ Stadium Links It With M’S Park
A new design for the Seattle Seahawks stadium features a west side promenade linking the gridiron with Pioneer Square and the new Seattle Mariners ballpark.
In another design change announced Thursday at a meeting of the stadium board overseeing the project, the main concourse would be at ground level rather than on the second story.
The 100-foot-wide, glass-walled concourse around the north and west sides would be a “grand hall” big enough for vendors and trade show displays, architect James Poulson said.
Construction of the $425 million complex is scheduled to begin next year and be completed in 2002. Board members have yet to formally select a site or approve a design.
