Sfcc President Loses Bid For Another Job

From Staff And Wire Reports

Vern Loland, president of Spokane Falls Community College, has lost his bid to become president of a larger, two-year school in New Orleans.

Directors of Delgado Community College decided Friday to hire an administrator from a giant Florida community college, a spokeswoman said.

Loland, who became Falls’ president in 1988, was one of three finalists for the Delgado job. Delgado is three times larger than Spokane Falls, with 14,000 students and several branch campuses.

Loland was in New Orleans and could not be reached for comment.
