Florida State waited nearly two years for a chance to repay Virginia for its only loss in 45 ACC games.

It took just over six minutes Saturday night to get even.

“They took something away from us two years ago,” said senior quarterback Thad Busby, referring to the Cavaliers’ 33-28 victory here in 1995, a loss that kept the Seminoles from the national championship. “We just had to regain it back. It was a pride game.”

The No. 3 Seminoles (7-0, 5-0 ACC) scored touchdowns on three of their first five plays from scrimmage, outgained Virginia (4-3, 3-2) 511 yards to 249 and extended their Atlantic Coast Conference winning streak to 15 with a 47-21 victory at Charlottesville, Va.

Freshman Travis Minor, who started the rout with an 87-yard touchdown run on the first play, finished with 159 rushing yards, 68 receiving yards and three TDs.
