First lady Hillary Rodham Clinton turns 50 today.


Dolph Camilli, a slugging first baseman who propelled the Brooklyn Dodgers to a long-awaited pennant in 1941 and became one of the most popular players in Flatbush, died Tuesday in San Mateo, Calif. He was 90.


Researchers lead by researcher Robert Gallo announced Thursday that they have identified a natural molecule that prevents HIV from infecting cells, a basic discovery they say could lead eventually to powerful new types of AIDS drugs or even a vaccine.


Tuesday: Hillary Rodham Clinton to appear on Oprah Winfrey’s TV show as part of celebration of her 50th birthday. President Clinton to join her but not appear on show.
