Escaped Molester Captured By Police

From Staff And Wire Reports

A convicted child molester who escaped from the Washington Department of Corrections three years ago was captured by Spokane Police on Saturday.

Charles Carter, 39, of Yakima, was stopped and questioned by police on East 35th Avenue. When a records check showed Carter’s history, the officers tried to arrest him.

Carter, weighing 225 pounds at 6 feet 2 inches tall, fought the officers and ran, police say. He was captured while climbing a barbed wire fence in the 4200 block of East 36th Avenue.

He was booked into jail on a 1994 warrant and for resisting arrest. , DataTimes
