State Distributes Hud Disaster Funds
Idaho cities and counties will share $2.8 million in federal grants under the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s new Disaster Recovery Initiative.
The money will help repair public facilities such as roads and bridges, public water systems and sewage systems damaged or destroyed in flooding earlier this year.
The state will distribute grants to Adams, Benewah, Boise, Bonner, Boundary, Camas, Clearwater, Elmore, Gem, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Nez Perce, Owyhee, Payette, Shoshone, Valley and Washington counties. The HUD assistance will supplement aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other federal agencies.
