Hints For Heloise

Dear Heloise: When driving a nail, use a clear plastic drinking straw to hold the nail in place. It saves your knuckles or thumb. After using, the end of the straw can be withdrawn. Keep the straw with the hammer in a toolbox. It has the same use with screws. Ilene Bauer, Bexley, Ohio

Dear Heloise: I am a big picture taker. I always put names and information on the back of each photo.

I found that I sometimes pressed down too hard and it would leave an imprint on the front of the picture.

A good solution is to use white labels. Write on them and stick them on the back of the photos. You can also use labels from VCR tapes to do the same thing. Label and stick on. - Carol Shotts, Camby, Ind.
