Chad Adamson Central Valley Year: Senior Sport: Football Position: Quarterback

Now here’s a scary thought: Chad Adamson said, “I’m not playing as well as I’d like to be.”

That comes after the Central Valley quarterback hit 10 of 12 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown in a 56-12 romp over University.

“I’m not consistent,” Adamson said.

It’s true, Adamson had one bad game for the second-ranked 7-0 Bears. Overall, in six Greater Spokane League games, he’s completed 40 of 63 passes for 666 yards with just three interceptions. That includes four games when he played a series or two in the second half.

“He’s been throwing the ball real well,” Bears coach Rick Giampietri said. “A couple games he’s 6 for 6 in the first half, then it looks bad if you throw in the second half. I’ve told people he can throw long but he hasn’t had to; it’s been mostly controlled stuff.”

With Tyree Clowe rushing for more than 1,000 yards to lead a host of other capable backs, the big question mark for the CV offense was the passing attack. The thought was Adamson needed to come up big if the Bears were to be the dominant team everyone expected.

“I didn’t feel pressure… . We didn’t feel pressure,” Adamson said. “We knew what kind of team we had. We knew what we could do, and we’re doing what we expected to do.”
