Dollar Off Vs. European Currencies

The dollar tumbled against major European currencies but rose vs. the Japanese yen Thursday as Wall Street’s mixed performance disappointed currency traders seeking further gains after Tuesday’s record surge.

The U.S. currency fell to its second straight five-month low against the Swiss franc and dropped to a four-month low vs. the German mark for the second day as traders considered Europe a haven for their money until U.S. stocks sustain a rally.

In addition, the dollar fell to a three-month low against the British pound for the third straight session.
