Manito Play Equipment May Be Moved

The Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is holding an information meeting to gather public comment on plans to change the location of the lower Manito Park playground equipment.

The city wants to install new equipment.

The meeting will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the park picnic shelter near the duck pond.

Plans call for replacing the existing equipment with new handicapped-accessible equipment.

The new play area would be west of the shelter and closer to it.

About $50,000 is set aside in the budget for the purchase.
