Newcomers: Ben Blanchard, sr., 5-11, 195, ot/dt; Jeff Sheldon, sr., 5-11, 155, wr/db.

Quick kicks: Rounds wants Miners to regain respect as a tough-nosed team similar to those he played on and former coach Norm Walker produced.

Coach’s comments: “Hopefully, we’re going to turn things around. They didn’t enjoy getting beat up at all last year. They worked hard in off-season. They’re definitely in a better mood.”

Outlook: Wallace opened with 28-6 win over Potlatch and should move to 2-0 after playing Clearwater Valley on Friday. A 2-0 start would match the best since 1994. Rounds’ biggest concern is depth. Wallace will turn 1996 results around.
