No One Injured In Derailment

Seventeen freight-train cars derailed north of here Thursday, forcing rail traffic to detour to another route, Union Paficic Railroad said.

No one was injured in the morning accident, the railroad said. Seventeen of the train’s 73 cars jumped the track, and several were overturned.

Only one of the derailed cars was loaded, and no contents were spilled, the railroad said.

The cause of the accident was under investigation. Crews were working to remove the derailed cars and to repair 200 feet of damaged track. , DataTimes
