Hilda McGregor Spokane

Funeral Mass for Hilda Marie McGregor, 81, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McGregor, who was born in Clarkston, Wash., died Tuesday.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. McGregor was a 65-year Spokane resident and was a member of St. Charles Parish, Corbin Senior Center, St. Charles Senior Group, Moose Lodge Auxiliary and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Her husband, Archie McGregor, died in 1984.

Survivors include three sons, Archie McGregor of St. Maries, Theodore McGregor of Spokane and Michael McGregor of Arnold, Md.; two daughters, Mary Ann Corman of Spokane and Janice McEldowney of Pullman; two brothers, Tony Aichlmayr of Spokane and Leonard Aichlmayr of Lakeside, Mont.; a sister, Margaret Merrick of Spokane; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church.

Bernadette Faler Spokane

Vigil service for Bernadette Frances Faler, 82, will be at 8:30 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Faler, who died Sunday.who was born in Vermillion, S.D.

She was a resident of Spokane for 51 years and worked for Sears as a manager in the pet and plant department.

Mrs. Faler was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, the Eagles Lodge, Hillyard Senior Center, the Rock Rollers Club and the Ladies of LaSalette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Faler.

Survivors include two sons, William DeBoise of West Richland, Wash., and Richard DeBoise of Spokane; a brother, Leonard Dandurand of Sioux City, Iowa; three sisters, Jane MacKenzie of Sioux City, Ruby Pine of Placerville, Calif., and Mary Young of Spearfish, S.D.; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Melvina Ladwig Spokane

Visitation for Melvina Ladwig, 86, will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Wilbur (Wash.) Cemetery.

Born in Wilbur, Mrs. Ladwig died Tuesday.

Mrs. Ladwig was a homemaker.

Her husband, Edwin, died in 1988.

She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Plockelman of Puyallup, Wash., and Darlene Schwartzenberger of Spokane; a son, Edwin Ladwig of Almira, Wash.; a sister, Tressa Shoulders of Lyle, Wash.; a brother, Frank Hankel of Phoenix, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or the Wilbur Cemetery.

Frederick Wengeler Spokane

Vigil service for Frederick J. Wengeler, 87, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Wengeler, who was born in Munich, N.D., died Tuesday.

He moved to Spokane in 1951 from Thief River Falls, Minn. He worked for the Postal Service as a mail carrier.

His first wife of 47 years, Bernice Wengeler, died in 1979.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Violet; two daughters, Judy Bell of Anchorage, Alaska and Jennifer Wengeler of Seattle; a stepson, Robert Wedde of Cheney; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Wengeler Scholarship Fund at St. Charles Catholic School.

Sonja Roach Spokane

Visitation for Sonja Lee Roach, 59, is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Ms. Roach, who was born in Lincoln, Neb., died Monday.

She was a teacher at Lewis and Clark High School for 37 years.

Survivors include a brother, Richard Roach of Los Gatos, Calif.

Lucy Knick Spokane

Memorial service for Lucy G. Knick, 90, will be at 1 p.m. today at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. A second memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Froid (Mont.) Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Froid South Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Knick, who died Wednesday, was born in Eagle Bend, Minn.

She graduated from Froid High School and later graduated from Dillon Teachers College in Montana.

She taught in a rural school district in McCabe, Mont., from 1928 to 1930.

In 1933 she married Chester Knick in Montana.

Mrs. Knick worked from 1950 to 1970 for the Froid Post Office as a clerk.

She moved to Spokane in 1975 from Great Falls, Mont.

Her husband died in 1968.

Survivors include a daughter, Luella Eschenbacher of Spokane; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Richard Lentz Spokane

Graveside service for Richard Henry Lentz, 75, is set for 3:30 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lentz, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

He graduated from North Central High School in 1939 and served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Lentz operated the Woodland Motel and Mobile Home Park for 10 years and later owned and operated the Sunshine Dry Cleaners.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathryn; two sons, Tom and Richard Lentz Jr., both of Spokane; three daughters, Peggy Jeremiah and Sharon O’Connor, both of Spokane, and Sylvia Stillwell of Madison, Conn.; a sister, Margaret Kilcup of Spokane; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Spokane or the Hutton Settlement Children’s Home.

Cecilia (Monaghan) Raboin Spokane

Service for Cecilia M. (Monaghan) Raboin, 85, will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Cross Cemetery. Entombment will follow the service. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Raboin, who was born in Carthage, S.D., died Tuesday.

She graduated from Hillyard High School and Kinman Business College.

She worked for 41 years at Metallic Arts.

Mrs. Raboin was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the American Society of Women Accountants.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Arthur Monaghan and Frank Raboin.

Survivors include a son, Richard Monaghan of Veradale; six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Harold Elverum Spokane

Service for Harold O. Elverum, 84, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Born in Wallace, Mr. Elverum died Tuesday.

He worked as a laborer in the aluminum industry and was a member of the Crestline Church of the Nazarene, the Steelworkers Union, Corbin Senior Center and Eagles Lodge No. 2.

His wife, Edith Elverum, died in 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Larry and Dennis Elverum, both of Spokane; and two granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crestline Church of the Nazarene.

Thomas Felch Spokane

Memorial service for Thomas E. Felch, 30, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Windsor Baptist Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Ogden, Utah, he died Sunday from gunshot wounds.

He had lived in Spokane most of his life and worked as a commercial painter.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Jo Howes of Iceland; four sons, Matthew Brown, Joseph and Luke Whipple, and Thomas Felch, all of Spokane; his mother, Patricia Felch of Spokane; five brothers, David, John and Christopher Felch, all of Spokane, Chester Felch of Cheney and Tim Felch of Reardan, Wash.; a sister, Patricia Felch of Spokane; and his grandmother, Ruth Felch of Spokane.

Alvin McInnis Flowery Branch, Ga.

Memorial service for Alvin V. McInnis, 83, was Thursday at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church in Flowery Branch.

Mr. McInnis, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday.

He served in the Marines as a lieutenant commander until 1947.

Mr. McInnis moved to Flowery Branch in 1970.

Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Rogers of Flowery Branch; three sons, Patrick McInnis of Norwalk, Calif., Mardi McInnis of Flowery Branch and Daniel McInnis of Bellflower, Calif.; a sister, Helen Holmquist of Walla Walla; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gerwin ‘Mac’ McMullen Chewelah, Wash.

Service for Gerwin LeRoy “Mac” McMullen, 95, was Thursday at Chewelah Memorial Park.

Mr. McMullen, who was born in Ridgeway, Mo., died Monday.

He married Mabel Olgesbee in 1925 and they moved in 1948 to Chewelah, where they farmed for several years. He later retired.

His wife died in 1981.

There are no surviving family members.

Hazel (Young) Rust Spokane

Service for Hazel R. (Young) Rust, 83, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at New Life Assembly of God Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Mineral Springs, Ark., Mrs. Rust died Monday.

She graduated from high school in Horatio, Ark., and went through nurse training at the Veterans Hospital in Danville, Ill.

She was a registered nurse and had lived in Spokane for 10 years. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Rust of Spokane and Kenneth Stanley of Tracyton, Wash.; three sisters, Beth Brooks of Winthrop, Ark., Inez Taylor of Lockesburg, Ark., and Corine Ayers of Horatio, Ark.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
