From Staff And Wire Reports

Atlas Mining Co. of Osburn, Idaho has elected new officers and said it plans to be more aggressive in acquiring new properties.

The new officers are William Jacobson, president; Jack Harvey, vice-president; and Kurt Hoffman, secretary and treasurer.

The company also agreed to purchase equipment valued at $1.5 million from Fausett International Inc. of Osburn. Jacobson said that will help make Atlas an operating company again. Atlas was founded in 1924 and has been non-operating since the 1950s.

Company officials plan to increase property acquisition and take a more aggressive approach to development of properties in the Western United States, especially in Idaho.

Atlas has approximately $3.7 million in total assets and has 2.5 million shares outstanding. Atlas also owns 29 patented mining claims, company officials said. , DataTimes
