Opinions Vary On Kraft’s ‘Light’ Mac-And-Cheese

Rick Bonino Food Editor

When we heard that Kraft had come out with a “light” version of its macaroni and cheese, our first thought was: Is nothing sacred?

Actually, it turned out to be a reduced-fat version of Kraft’s adult-oriented deluxe mac-and-cheese, not the regular stuff that’s become a kids’ culinary classic.

Curiously, when we served the lightened-up one at a special back-to-school session of The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel that included several youngsters, the kids liked it a little better than the adults did.

Guess that regular stuff must be even worse than we remembered.
