Nina Culver Correspondent

Hey, ladies, dig out your checkbooks and prepare for a night to remember with the seventh annual Easter Seals Bachelor Auction. “An Evening of Elegance” is set for Friday at the downtown DoubleTree Hotel.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m. and bidding will begin at 7:30 p.m. The KZZU Breakfast Boys, Ken Hopkins and Dave Sposito, will oversee the auction of 41 men, who range in age from 23 to 66.

“This is the most incredible group,” says Renee Anderson of Easter Seals, which will benefit from this fund-raiser. “They are all the nicest men, very professional, very anxious to participate in this. The majority of the men have never been married and don’t have children.”

Here is a sampling of some of the bachelors up for bid and their date packages.

Fritz Rosekrans, 63, describes himself as a “1934 model with high mileage but well maintained, almost all original parts, everything works, two previous owners, doesn’t smoke or burn oil.” Rosekrans, a psychologist, plans to take his date on a motorcycle ride to Williams Lake for lunch and swimming, followed by dinner and dancing at Ankeny’s.

Attorney William Jeckle, 31, is a Spokane native and graduate of the Gonzaga University School of Law. His date package includes a day of exploring San Francisco and dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Spokane School District director Larry Parsons, 47, is a former martial arts instructor turned teacher. His date package is dinner and a night on the town in San Francisco.

Kevin Cunningham, 28, is a partner in a local investment firm. His date package includes a facial at Spa Paradisio, a tour of Lake Coeur d’Alene by helicopter, and dinner at Beverly’s followed by dancing or the activity of your choice.

Tickets are $12 and $15, available at G&B Select-a-Seat outlets or call (800) 325-SEAT.
