City, County Officials At Town Hall Meeting

From Staff And Wire Reports

City and county elected officials will meet for the first time in a jointly-sponsored town hall meeting tonight at 7 at the Five Mile Grange Hall.

Spokane County Commissioner John Roskelley and Spokane City Councilwoman Phyllis Holmes are holding the meeting to give neighbors a chance to talk about issues affecting the North Side neighborhood straddling the city-county line.

“This is the first time City Council members and county commissioners have hosted a public meeting to look at infrastructure, planning and development issues,” said Holmes. “We want to find a way the city and county can work together to solve community problems.”

Other council members and county officials will be available at the meeting to answer questions.

Some of the issues scheduled for discussion: traffic and transportation; crime; growth and development; sewer and water services; and the environment.
