‘Er’ Dares A Live Premiere
Bravo for raising the bar, “ER.”
On Thursday, “ER,” a show so successful it could easily coast, instead pushes itself to the limit. In a rare move, the series goes daringly live for its season premiere called “Ambush.”
Written by executive producer Carol Flint, “Ambush” follows a documentary film crew as it visits the chaotic ER and its docs. “Ambush” also introduces new character Dr. Elizabeth Corday, a surgical resident from England played by Alex Kingston.
About 90 actors - from stars to extras - will appear in “Ambush,” filmed by 11 cameras. “Ambush” will originate from Warner Bros. in Burbank but will air live only in Eastern and Central time zones.
