Sherill ‘Bud’ Newton Colfax, Wash.

Visitation for Sherill “Bud” Newton, 89, is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax. Service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery.

Born in Colfax, Mr. Newton died Wednesday.

He was a 1926 graduate of Colfax High School.

In 1944 he married Mildred Carrow.

Mr. Newton was the estimator of costs and aircraft repair for the Boeing Co. of Seattle. He retired in 1970.

He was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church and Elks Lodge, both of Colfax.

His wife died in 1979.

Mr. Newton is survived by a daughter, Sheryl of California; and a grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Roger Jacobson Chewelah, Wash.

Service and burial for Roger Ned Everett Jacobson, 59, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chewelah Memorial Park. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jacobson, who was born in Tekoa, Wash., died, Thursday.

He served in the Navy for 20 years and was a Vietnam War veteran.

Mr. Jacobson worked in the maintenance department at the junior college in Colville for eight years.

He was a longtime resident of Chewelah and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; four daughters, Charlene Jenks of Chewelah; Caroline Peone of Sacramento, Calif., Katrina Wallace of Coeur d’Alene and Laura Wilson of Olympia; a brother, Jerry Jacobson of Airway Heights; a sister, Roberta Sawyer of Seattle; and four grandchildren.

Helen Lambeth Elk, Wash.

Memorial service for Helen S. Lambeth, 39, is planned for 4 p.m. Sept. 20 at Spokane Valley Seventhday Adventist Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lambeth was born in Tacoma Park, Md.

She died Wednesday from cancer.

Mrs. Lambeth was a director of physical therapy for Group Health.

Mrs. Lambeth moved to Spokane from Redlands, Calif., 13 years ago.

She was a member of the Seventhday Adventist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Larry; two sons, Joshua and Christopher Lambeth, both of Elk; her parents, Gotwin Staubert of Tacoma Park and Dorice Lindsey of Red Deer, Alberta; and two sisters, Diane Shearer of Mount Shasta, Calif., and Ingrid Harrison of Red Deer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Bessie McKinney Potlatch, Idaho

Graveside service for Bessie A. McKinney, 92, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Potlatch City Cemetery. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McKinney, who was born in Daisy, Wash., died Thursday.

In 1928 she married Dewey McKinney in St. Maries.

They moved to Princeton, Idaho, in the early 1930s.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband died in 1978.

Mrs. McKinney moved to Moscow three years ago to live in the Moscow Care Center. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge in Potlatch.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Kelso of Potlatch; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund.

Fredrick Washington Jr. Spokane

Funeral Mass for Fredrick Washington, Jr., 76, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Washington, who died Wednesday, was born in St. Louis.

He served 22 years in the Air Force and retired from Fairchild Air Force Base in 1966.

Mr. Washington went to work at Interlake School in Medical Lake and then owned Washington’s Radio and TV repair service.

He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Lula; a daughter Tamara Gardner of Seattle; a son, Calvin Washington of Spokane; and a grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or the American Heart Association.

Phyllis Duvall Spokane

Service for Phyllis P. Duvall, 87, will be at 11 a.m. today at Spokane Valley Baptist Church. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Creston (Wash.) Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Duvall, who was born in Wilbur, Wash., died Thursday.

In 1926 she married Clayton Duvall.

Mrs. Duvall moved to Creston and farmed until 1953, when she and her husband retired. She then moved to Spokane.

Her husband died in 1977.

Mrs. Duvall was a member of the Greenacres Grange and the Spokane Valley Women’s Republican Club.

She is survived by three daughters, Betty Hilderbrand of Olympia, Jane Weeks of Spokane and Loraine Keith of Maple Valley, Wash.; three sons, Dale Duvall of Arlington, Wash., Elva Duvall of Eugene, Ore., and Richard Duvall of Kennewick; a brother, David Vanarsdall of Boise; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Margaret Crummett Spokane

Memorial service for Margaret V. Crummett, 76, is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crummett, a homemaker, died Friday.

She was born in Martinsburg, W.Va., and had lived in Spokane for 41 years.

Mrs. Crummett was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist and of the volunteer auxiliary at Deaconess Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Crummett of Mead; two brothers, Charles Miller of Martinsburg and Buck Rogers of Tempe, Ariz.; and one granddaughter.
