Vandals Lose Tackle

The only loss the Idaho Vandals suffered on Saturday was in the injury department.

Senior offensive tackle Justin Meek apparently tore an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during the Vandals’ 43-0 football victory over Idaho State and will miss the rest of the season, coach Chris Tormey said. Meek is eligible for a redshirt year.

Meek’s replacement will be freshman Patrick Venzke, a 22-year-old German exchange student.

Linebacker Matt Jasik (neck) has been given medical clearance to return to practice and should play Saturday against Central Florida.
