Mourners Visit Mother Teresa’s Grave

Compiled From Wire Services

The Missionaries of Charity opened their convent to mourners Monday, allowing them to pray at Mother Teresa’s grave for the first time.

Nearly 400 mourners waited several hours outside the convent before they were allowed inside to place candles, flowers and wreaths at Mother Teresa’s simple cement tomb and white marble marker.

Mother Teresa was buried in a private ceremony Saturday. She died Sept. 5 at the age of 87.
