Pba Senior Wins, Cries
Teata Semiz threw four late strikes to overtake Ron Winger for a dramatic 227-224 victory in the finals of the $80,000 St. Petersburg/ Clearwater PBA Senior Open and became the oldest champion in the history of the PBA.
After realizing he had won, the 63-year-old Semiz buried his head in a towel and sobbed.
“This is the greatest moment in my life,” said Semiz, who had not won since 1993. “At my age, I never thought I would win again.”
