Cisar Scores On Return To Chiefs, But Spokane Loses 4-3 To Tri-City

Spokane Chiefs veteran right wing Marian Cisar scored in his first game back, but the Chiefs couldn’t overcome a slow start and lost to the Tri-City Americans 4-3 Friday night during the WHL exhibition Tri-City Tournament.

It dropped Spokane’s record to 2-3. The Americans improved to 3-2. The teams play again today.

Spokane trailed 3-0 at the end of the first period and found itself down 4-1 after two. Cisar, who was returned from the Los Angeles Kings camp, scored the Chiefs’ first goal at 3:45.

Spokane’s Derek Schutz and Marc Brown scored in the third period.

Ty Jones, the Chicago Blackhawks’ first-round selection (16th overall), returned to the team and will be available for the season-opener on Sept. 27 against Tri-City.

In a move Friday, the Chiefs acquired 20-year-old defenseman Perry Johnson from the Regina Pats for future considerations.
