Wayne Mendenhall Spokane

Funeral Mass for Wayne Curtis Mendenhall, 69, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mendenhall, who was born in Potlatch, Idaho, died Wednesday.

He worked for the YMCA as a maintenance engineer and as a delivery driver for Maxwell Electric and retired as a truck driver for The Spokesman-Review.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Parish, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and active in Expo ‘74.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Paula; three sons, Robert and Daniel Mendenhall, both of Spokane, and Jeffrey Mendenhall of Ennis, Texas; six daughters, Janet Marie of Seattle, Merrian Smith of Veradale, Milly Kerbs of Salmon, Idaho, Colleen Emery of Africa, Ann Wilson of Spokane and Eileen Davis of Greenacres; two brothers, Don Mendenhall of Seattle and Gordon Mendenhall of Tacoma; a sister, Jean Wilson of Seattle; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Spokane.

Cleo Llewellyn Spokane

No service will be held for Cleo L. Llewellyn, 82, at her request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Llewellyn, who was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., died Wednesday.

She moved from Michigan as a small child to Sandpoint and later to Spokane. She had been a Spokane resident for more than 70 years.

Mrs. Llewellyn graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.

She worked at Gladding McBean and Co. for many years and later for Washington Trust Bank.

She is survived by three cousins, Marilyn Ashley of Wyoming, Mich., and Harlene Quist and Clare Lowing, both of Sparta, Mich.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.

Virginia ‘Kelley’ Gumenberg Spokane

No service will be held for Virginia Mae “Kelley” Gumenberg, 70, at her request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements and cremation.

Mrs. Gumenberg, who died Thursday, was born in Lincoln, Neb.

She moved to Spokane in 1945 and worked as a dental hygienist and in real estate sales.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jack; and a brother, Raymond Thieman of Spokane.
