Cal’s Shaw Honored
California receiver Bobby Shaw, who caught two TD passes in a 40-36 win over Oklahoma, earned his second offensive player of the week honor in three weeks in Pac-10 football.
Arizona tackle Joe Salave’a earned defensive honors after a career-high 11 tackles, three of them quarterback sacks, in a 28-20 loss at Ohio State and Oregon State’s DeShawn Williams, who returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown against Stanford, was named the top special teams player.
Montana receiver Josh Paffhausen, who had a school-record 15 receptions in a 35-14 win over Saint Mary’s, was named the Big Sky conference’s offensive player of the week.
Terrance Petty of Northern Arizona won the defensive honor after recording a team-high 13 tackles, including four for a loss, in a 40-6 win over Minnesota-Duluth.
