Beyond Mac-And-Cheese

Macaroni and cheese has been around for a long time. So has Pasta USA, a Spokane company that started out as U.S. Macaroni Co. back in 1916 and built a big, state-of-the-art processing plant in Hillyard three years ago.

Now the Pasta USA people are giving boxed mac-and-cheese a new twist with Italian Chef Pasta & Cheese, tiny pasta shells with creamy sauces that come in four flavors: Alfredo, White Cheddar, Southwest and Pizza.

Just think what they’ll be doing in another 80 years.

Price: About 79 cents for a 6-ounce package.
