Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: While doing some work around the place I needed a nail apron and came up with an idea that proved very useful. By cutting out the seat of an old pair of denim pants and putting my work belt through the loops, I created an apron that provided pockets in front for nails and screws. Also, I put my hammer holder and my tape measure on the belt and was ready for my project.

This apron would provide an inexpensive way to keep supplies handy while doing house and gardening projects and also would recycle good denim material. - Norm Struthers, Vale, Ore.

Dear Heloise: I have a large collection of earrings and chains. I keep them in egg cartons. No more hunting for mates or untangling chains as I rush through the morning. They stack nicely to conserve space. - Linda Green, Scottsdale, Ariz.
