Police Identify Man Found Shot Dead

From Staff Reports

A man whose bullet-riddled body was found in a remote area of Douglas County, Wash., has been identified as 18-year-old Jonathan Bumstead of East Wenatchee, the undersheriff said Tuesday.

Bumstead died of wounds from several gunshots fired from a largecaliber firearm, Undersheriff Dave Wallace said.

Investigators have no suspects in the slaying and no motive, Wallace said.

A hiker found Bumstead’s body Sunday along an old railroad right of way more than 20 miles east of Wenatchee, Wallace said.

Investigators believe Bumstead was killed at that site a couple of days before his body was found, Wallace said.
