Riverside’s Enrollment Down From Projections

FROM FOR THE RECORD (Wednesday, October 1, 1997): Correction The Riverside School District is 103 students short of its projected enrollment. A figure in the Sept. 25 North Side Voice was incorrect. Also, Kathy Stroyan is the district’s business manager. She was incorrectly identified.

The Riverside School District is 43 students short of its projected enrollment.

The district has 2,165 students enrolled but was planning on 2,208, said school board member Kathy Stroyan.

Stroyan said the shortfall would mean less money for the district from the state.

“We’re trying not to be too alarmed about it because it is just the first month of the school year,” Stroyan said, adding that enrollments could increase by the end of the school year.

Elementary schools lost the most students in the district, Stroyan said, while middle schools were “down a hair” and high schools were “up a hair.”
