Gu To Extend Search For President

Gonzaga University announced Thursday that it has formed a committee of trustees, professors and students to begin a nationwide search for a new Jesuit president.

The Rev. Edward Glynn resigned as Gonzaga president in May because of philosophical differences with the board of trustees. Glynn had held the job 10 months.

Board chairman James Jundt said in a statement that no deadline has been set for hiring Glynn’s replacement, “to devote as much time as is necessary to locate the best person.”

The next president will be the 25th to serve the Jesuit-owned university in its 110-year-old history.
