Spokane Man Pleads Innocent To Child Rape

A Spokane man facing child rape and molestation charges pleaded not guilty Thursday in Superior Court.

William C. Goodfellow, 50, is being held in the Spokane County Jail on $250,000 bond, accused of sex crimes dating back to 1992.

Goodfellow turned himself in two weeks ago after police were contacted by a 13-year-old boy who said he had been propositioned for sex acts by the defendant.

Goodfellow, who lives in the Shadle Park High School area, was convicted in 1976 of taking indecent liberties with a child.

Police searched his home and found thousands of pictures of teens and younger children in sexual poses on more than 75 computer disks.

They also found eight videotapes supposedly made by Goodfellow showing minors involved in sex acts.

At Thursday’s hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Patty Connelly Walker convinced the judge to prohibit Goodfellow from having contact with anyone under 18 years old, should he post bail.

He faces 10 felony charges, including first-degree rape for allegedly having sex in his home with an 11-year-old boy between 1989 and 1990.

He is charged with second-degree rape for alleged acts with a 13-year-old Spokane boy between January 1992 and January 1993.

Goodfellow also faces first- and second-degree child molestation charges for alleged sexual contact with two other Spokane boys between January 1993 and August 1996. The boys were 7 and 13 at the time, according to authorities.

The remaining charges accuse Goodfellow of making, possessing or distributing child pornography.

His trial has been scheduled for Nov. 10.
