Lakeland quarterback Kurt Reese tossed three long touchdown passes as the visiting Hawks (2-1-1) trampled Coeur d’Alene 34-14 to spoil the Vikings’ (1-3) homecoming in non-league prep football game.

The Hawks didn’t pass much, but they made sure the passes counted. Reese was 7 of 10 for 201 yards. Pat Goodwin ran for 141 yards on 25 carries and scored twice for CdA.

In an Inland Empire League opener that could best be described as “sloppy” - lots of penalties and miscues - Lewiston outscored Post Falls 34-20 at Bengal Field in Lewiston.
