Police Reserve Meeting To Be Held

The Spokane Police Department will hold an orientation meeting Thursday for people interested in becoming volunteer reserve officers.

Reservists receive 256 hours of training at the Police Academy, including courses in the law, self-defense, emergency driving techniques and evidence gathering.

Successful graduates work with patrol officers.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens at least 21 years old by Dec. 17. They also must be in good physical condition, hold a valid driver’s license and possess a high school diploma or equivalent with a 2.5 grade point average.

The orientation meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Boulevard. For more information, call 625-4083 during normal business hours. , DataTimes
