Deputies Seek ‘Very Dirty’ Man In Valley Restaurant Robbery

From Staff And Wire Reports

Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a “very dirty” man who robbed a Spokane Valley bar and grill late Saturday morning.

The man, concealing his face with a blue bandanna, entered Bolo’s Restaurant & Lounge, 116 S. Best, at 11:20 a.m.

Brandishing a revolver, the man ordered one customer and two employees into a walk-in cooler, Deputy Dave Reagan said.

He took money and a wallet from one victim, and grabbed an unspecified amount of cash from the register, said owner Barney Barnhart.

No food or alcohol was taken. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

The robber wedged a ladder against the cooler door and fled out the back door, said Barnhart.

The employees and customer managed to dislodge the ladder and free themselves.

Deputies searched the area for an hour without success.

“He appeared very thin, but he was bundled up and very dirty in appearance,” Reagan said. “They said he looked like a transient.”

Employees described the suspect as white, 45 to 50 years old, with a mustache, graying brown hair and blue eyes. He wore a red flannel shirt and dark blue knit cap.

There are no known witnesses to the robber’s escape. Anyone with information about the crime should call Crime Check at 456-2233.
