Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My 5-year-old daughter, Frannie, fell and scraped her knee. She was reluctant to have any medicine put on the scrape before covering it with a bandage.

She came up with a great suggestion. Squirt the medicine on the bandage pad, then put on the bandage. This way, the needed medicine gets to the wound without the added discomfort of touching the wound with medicine. - Sylvia Spriestersbach, Upper Marlboro, Md.

This hint can help little ones and grown-ups alike. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: Another use for those tall, cylinder-shaped potato-chip cans: Fill with homemade cookies and put in the freezer. Then, when you or the kids need to take cookies, you just grab a can. The cookies won’t get crushed, and you don’t need to worry about getting your container back. - Julie Londeen, Manhattan, Kan.
