Churches Offering Dinners For Valentine’s Day Diners

Ah, Valentine’s Day. A time for romance, roses, chocolate and candlelight. And crowded restaurants.

To avoid the bustle of busy restaurants, take your valentine to one of the dinners being offered at area churches.

The youth of Audubon Park United Methodist Church will host their third annual Valentine’s dinner/dance at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13.

Vegetarian selections will be available. The cost of the evening is $15 for couples or $8 per person. Tickets will be available at the door.

The proceeds from the dinner will be used to send the youth on a mission trip to Mexico to build houses.

For more information or to request a vegetarian dinner, call the church office at 325-4541. The church is located at 3908 N. Driscoll Blvd.

St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2159 N. Hamilton, will host a Valentine’s Day spaghetti dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. The dinner is free, but reservations are required by Sunday.

For more information or to make a reservation, call the church office at 483-8192.

The First Church of the Open Bible, 8303 N. Division, will host a Valentine’s banquet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. The featured speakers for the evening will be Brett and Theresa Johnson, pastors at an Open Bible Church in Stevenson, Wash.

Tickets for the dinner are $8.50 per person and must be purchased by Sunday. For more information, call the church office at 467-5122.

Fund-raiser for Assumption

Assumption Parish School will serve a fund-raising dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday in the school gym. The cost is $3.50 for adults and $3 for seniors, and children under the age of 12. Tickets will be available at the door. Wine will be served by the glass.

All proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Catholic school. For more information, call the school office at 328-1115. The school is located at 3618 W. Indian Trail Road.

St. Peter holds fund-raiser

St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal, will host a fund-raiser after the 8 and 10:45 a.m. worship services on Sunday. Refreshments will be served and donations will be accepted. The money raised will be used to offset the costs incurred in starting up the 8 a.m. worship service last September.
