Reward Offered In Death Of Gray Wolf

From Staff Reports

A $2,500 reward is being offered for information about a wolf that was killed during September 1996 between Bovill and Elk River.

The adult female gray wolf was not transplanted as part of the federal wolf recovery program. She had migrated into the area from the pack located near Missoula, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The wolf earlier had been captured and fitted with a radio collar and ear tag by biologists. She was sighted by several people living in the area.

The Fish and Wildlife Service and conservation organizations have put up the reward. People with information about the wolf killing are encouraged to call (509) 928-6050. , DataTimes
