Nyse Exploring Expansion Options

The New York Stock Exchange is talking with city officials about building a new headquarters on several parcels across Broad Street from the Big Board’s current home, a person familiar with the situation said.

The plan would involve the stock exchange buying the land or, if negotiations with the owners are unsuccessful, a condemnation of the properties by New York City, the person said. The properties involved include a vacant lot and a residential building.

That plan is one of several options the stock exchange is discussing with city officials to deal with a shortage of space, the person said.
