Montana Ranger To Transfer To St. Joe District
George Bain will become St. Joe district ranger in March, according to officials at the Idaho Panhandle National Forests.
Bain succeeds Brad Gilbert, who has been promoted to operations team leader in the forest supervisor’s office.
Bain has been district ranger in Philipsburg, Mont., since May 1995.
His career also includes working as a Forest Service liaison with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Helena and working in the Kootenai National Forest in northwestern Montana.
In addition, Bain has worked in the Clearwater and Nez Perce national forests in Idaho.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in forestry and wildlife from Virginia Tech University in 1975.
