Workshop Links Art With Teaching

Those attending “Teacher’s Pop Art Workshop,” sponsored by the Cheney Cowles Museum and the Spokane Arts Commission, will learn how to select art pieces for the classroom and link them to the curriculum, and provide skills and knowledge for students to use in their lives.

The workshop, for teachers of all grades, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 20; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 21, at Gonzaga Prep, 1224 E. Euclid.

Seattle-area teachers Meredith Essex and Susy Watts will present “Soup to Nuts: Pop Art and Its Legacy.”

The workshop is limited to 24 teachers on a first-come, first-served basis. Continuing education hours are available. The workshop fee of $25 includes lunch, materials, overhead transparencies, poster and catalog.
