Ford Helps Tigers Tank Highlanders

GSL girls

Deonna Ford scored six of her career-high 12 points in the fourth quarter as Lewis and Clark moved into fourth place in the Greater Spokane League with a crucial 50-44 win at Shadle Park Tuesday night.

The Tigers (8-9 overall, 8-7 GSL) and Highlanders (9-8, 7-8) were tied for fourth in a tight five-team battle for the final three playoff spots.

Cold shooting doomed the Highlanders, who hit just 3 of 15 shots in the fourth quarter. However, two of the shots were back-to-back 3-pointers by Sarah Harchuck and Brooke Olzendam around the 2-minute mark to make it a tight game.

Then Ford hit a couple clutch shots down the stretch to seal the win.

Ford and Sarah Glotfelty had eight rebounds each for LC. Harchuck, who also had 12 points, and Michelle Etter had nine rebounds apiece for Shadle.
