Warm to this idea

The Cheney United Methodist Church, 204 Fourth Street, is holding a “Blanket Sunday” this week. Donations collected during the Sunday worship services will be used to purchase blankets. The woolen blankets are purchased in bulk by Church World Service, which distributes them to poor people around the world.

The church youth group will also perform skits during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services.

Choir to sing Sunday

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will host the Concoria Choir of the Spokane German American Society at the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday. The choir will be performing traditional German folk music as well as selections from Schubert’s Mass in F and Bethhoven’s “Ode to Joy.” A reception will follow the service.

The church is located at 5720 S. Perry.
